Writing: The Night Before Christmas Remake

L.I: to recreate a famous poem

This week for writing, we had to recreate the famous poem The Night Before Christmas. I really enjoyed this activity, considering that I enjoy writing poems, all together, my remake took about 10 minutes, seems short at first, but about 3 minutes of that time was spent checking if my rhyming, A. made sense, and B. related to the topic. In the end, it turned our quite well, and after reading it to my friends, they all agree.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house;
where there was not a sound, not even a mouse;

I hopped into bed, and then put my head;
onto my pillow, but suddenly, heard a ho ho ho;
I jolted awake, too fast to get a headache;
once i’d heard the sound, of footsteps lurking around;

I then left my room, once I saw a yellow gloom;
until it was bright, to light up the night;
I went into the lounge to see quite an unexpected guest, who was wearing a singlet, and
making a nest;

The nest was made of presents, circling the tree, as my heart lit bright, and I shot up in
glee;

The man looked me in the eye, and gave me a wink;
As he then disappeared, in a single blink;

I then went back to bed, after that amazing site;

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

    Nice poem, I really like how you rhymed wink and blink too. I have a question for you though, how long did this take for you to do?
    Good job!
