Summer Learning Journey: Day 2 : Week 2 | Activity 2

Today I completed the second activity for day 2 of week 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we needed to think of someone that we think is tough and strong, and what they mean to us. The person that I chose was my mum. She isn't strong physically, although she is never scared to have a say, she puts up with many things every day, and she has gone through many ups and downs, and has always kept a smile. She cares for me, and the rest of my family. She does everything to make sure there is food on my plate, I am healthy, and that I get plenty of rest every night. I love my mum, and i'm so happy that I have her.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 1 : Week 2 | Activity 2

Today I completed the second activity for day 1 of week 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we are given a free ticket to the Lake Taupo Cycle Race. We are allowed to bring 3 people to act as our support crew. Who will we bring, and why? I would bring my family which includes my mum, dad, and brother. I would choose them as they support me through every big moment I go through, and I would want them to see me, as it would encourage me to go further.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 5 : Week 1 | Activity 2

Today, I completed the second activity for day 5 of week 1 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we needed to see ourselves in the situation that we have been on a school trip with out teacher up to a tundra, and we need to send a letter to our friends, or family with a greeting e.g dear, and 6 sentences.

Dear Mum and Dad,
My trip to the tundra is going really well so far. As soon as I arrived, I was amazed. The sights we beautiful, and everything was so peaceful. The wildlife is astounding, and there are plenty of animals I had never seen before. Did you know that animals such as the Arctic Hare, and Arctic Fox. And even an animal known as a Muskox. Either way, I cannot wait to get back home, and tell you the stories I have for the ride back.

Summer Learning Journey: Day 4: Week 1 | Activity 2

Today I completed the second activity for day 4 of the first week of the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we needed to create a blogpost telling people what our favourite food is, and how to make it.

My favourite food is bacon and egg pie. My mum and I make it together, and I love both preparing it, and eating it. The steps are listed below.  To make this dish, you need bacon, eggs, 4 squares of pastry, milk, tomato, mixed herbs, olives, capsicums, and salt and pepper. First, spray cooking spray onto tray, and apply pastry to the bottom off a tray. Next, place extra pastry half way up the sides of the tray. Thirdly chop up all ingredients, and sprinkle on pastry. After this, crack 6 eggs, and spread it's contents around the pastry. Next, place salt and pepper over ingredients, and add a top layer of pastry. Squash top layer of pastry with bottom, to join it all together. If there is any leftover pastry, you can cut it into small pieces, and decorate the top of your dish. After that, brush some milk over the top of your pastry, and put it in the oven for 35 - 45 minutes at 190 - 200 degrees. Make sure to check it every once and a while, and once done, serve it, and eat up.

Summer Learning Journey: Week 1 | Day 3 | Activity 2

Today I completed the second activity for day 3 of week 1 of the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity we had to find three pros and cons (Positive and Negative) things about being a DOC Ranger. This challenge was quite hard as you couldn't find all of the pros and cons that you needed, so you would have to imagine yourself in the scenario that you are a DOC Ranger, and think of what you would do.

Summer Learning Journey: Week 1: Day 2 | Activity 2

Today, I completed activity 2 of week 1 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, I needed to find 3 different New Zealand Sports Teams that included the word "Fern" in their name. Along with that, we needed an image of their team wearing their uniform next to the name. This activity was not too hard, although it was a challenge to find a third team as I was left for a solid 2 minutes searching for a team.

Summer Learning Journey: Week 1: Day 1 | Activity 2

Today I completed the second activity for day 1, of week 1 of the Summer Learning Journey for 2018 and 2019. In this activity, we needed to describe Auckland, and where we live with different adjectives. This activity took very little time to complete.

Auckland is a magnificent place. Known as the city of sails, with an attractive appearance, and great views, it can be called a great place to be apart of. I live in Pakuranga, and I love it there. We have elegant facilities, and great people in the community. I am always eager to get out into the community and see what I can do that's new to me, or exciting. I live right in front of the Tamaki River, and when the tide is up it's the best to go for a swim.
