This is a DLO for our inquiry for week 6. In my group there was, Cecillia, Malakai, Koloa, Afu, Abdurrahim, Me and Shannon. We had to do challenges about what the old and modern Olympic athlete's ate for their diet.

Comets DLO

L.I: to summarise a text
This is a DLO on the text Comets. It tells you what comet's are made out of "Rock, ice and dust".

Column Method

 Today for maths our must do was to do level 4 and 5 of basic subtraction on Transum. I got all of them right for level 4 and 5. We had to take a screenshot of one of our answers we got right and explain how we got the answer using column method.

It makes 22 because if you take 3 from 5 it equals 2 and then you do it again and now you have another 2 so when you put them together you get 22.

Now you have a problem, the 0 is smaller than 9. So what you have to do is borrow, and to borrow you need to take one number off the number after it and add it to your problem.

Poetry

L.I: how do words work to make a picture in our mind. Today we learnt about poetry. We learnt that you need in a poem a noun, an adjective, another adjective, a 3rd adjective, a verb, an adverb, an ending, an adjective to the ending, and another adjective to the ending.

First we had to do a poem as a group of 4, and then make a poem by our self. The First poem I made with Tai, Joseph and Te-Ponamu and it was,

L.I to find the most important (main) idea in a text. This is a DLO on the text How To Make A Non-Polluting Car. It tells you step by step how to make the car and it is easy to make. We found out that the main idea is how to make a non polluting car because it is what the story is about because it is a procedural story that tells you how to make the car.

Persuasive Avertisement

L.I to create your own advertisement (brochure) For writing we had to make our own advertisement on a certain toy.  Me, Alex and Abdurrahim chose the Lego set. We had to plan the advertisement on a piece of paper and 

then we had to do the actual advertisement on either a google document or a google drawing.           

Prototec Scores

Today when I did Prototec I got 10 out of 10 for every section in 4m and 29s. Now all I need to work on is getting it done faster.

Jack, Sanujan, Fraidon And Tai Word Webs

         L.I: To find out the most important (Main) Idea in a text. Word Webs is getting all the words that you don't understand in a book and you find out the definition of the words. Today Sanujan, Fraidon, Tai and I had to do word webs on the story How To Make A Non-Polluting Car.

Place Value Rocket Ship Game

Today me, Tai, Alex and Sanujan played the Place Value Rocket Ship game. Alex and Sanujan took turns at rolling the dice and me and Tai put the numbers on our rockets. In the end both me and Tai both lost.

Neighbourhood Niggles Mr And Mrs Fitz DLO

L.I to find the most important (main) idea in a text.
This is a DLO on the story Neighbourhood Niggles. The story is about the author Susie Long and her neighbours Mr and Mrs Fitz.  Mr and Mrs Fitz have hundreds of hens, but Susie does not like them for that. The noise they make are really loud so Susie has to wear earmuffs, the hens feathers fall off and blow into her property, but the worst thing about the hen is their poop. When it rains, the poop goes down the street and into the drains. So that's why Susie does not like the Fitz and she wants them to move to the countryside with a more suitable backyard.

Persuasive Advertising

Today we had to do persuasive language features on one of these site, EB Games, Lego Friends and Hotwheels. Alex and I chose EB Games and Found Minecraft. We saw that it was 5 star rated, it had repeated words, it had words in all caps and there was bold text.

Place Value House

L.I To use place value to solve equations
This is a screenshot of my place value house. We had to work out the answer by using addition and subtraction. Today I had to think of a question to answer by using place value in addition and subtraction. The thing I found hard was using subtraction to answer my question but eventually I worked it out.
