Can Do

Today when I played Transum I did Mine Find and finished level 1 in 20 to 30 seconds long. Next time I play Mine Find I will try to finish level two.

Can Do

Today when I played Transum I did Tetrominoes and I finished level one in 30 seconds! This was the fastest time I have ever done Tetrominoes, next time I will try to do level 2 with the same time.

Blog Comment

This was the comment I posted on Alex's blog post about his 747-800 drawing.

Writing: Narrative

LI: to write an information report / explanation about your Flight self inquiry task.
This week for writing we had to either write an Information Report, Explanation or a Narrative. We had to follow our plan we made and the text had to be about a rocket, plane, bird etc.

The Boeing Disaster

Cyron Mill was a man with happy life and had just applied to work for Boeing Commercial Airplanes to test fly the Boeing 737-700 to see if it can fly to be used for migration. Cyron got the deal of getting the price of the plane if he manages to fly from Riverstone forest back to the Boeing Commercial Airplanes take-off station.
‘You do remember Riverstone forest has had a couple of, weird unexplained things that have happened there, are you sure you want to do this?’ the Boeing Commercial Airplanes owner explained.
‘I’m sure I want to do this, because I need the money to pay both my bills and also my grandparents rent.’ Cyron replied
‘Well ok then, good luck.’ the owner replied.

Cyron went inside the 737-700 at the Boeing Commercial Airplanes take-off station and got ready to fly to Riverstone forest. Cyron was then in the air and he looked back at the take-off station were he saw his boss waving at him. Cyron had been flying for about an hour now until he saw his fuel was running out, he landed safely without damaging the plane but hit his head on controls and got knocked out. Cyron woke up at night and saw these never seen creatures coming towards him. Cyron picked up his phone and shone the light on the creatures, and the light scared the creatures away. Cyron woke up that morning with an empty stomach, so he tried to find something to eat. He had some string in the plane so he grabbed that and tied a rock and a branch together to make a spear. He then wondered around to try to find an animal like a deer or a lizard. After a couple of minutes Cyron stumbled across a deer, he hid down in a bush and waited for the deer to come closer so he could throw the spear. After a minute of waiting the deer came close enough for Cyron to throw the spear, and he threw the spear and now had breakfast. He cooked the deer on a fire and set off to explore. Cyron was walking around until he found a cave with a rope hanging down, Cyron climbed down and used his phone for a guide of where he was going. He kept walking until he saw a fuel tank next to a dead body, Cyron thought to himself, ‘Someone else must have crashed here too?’ It was a mystery to never be solved, Cyron picked up the fuel tank until one of those creatures lurked out of the darkness, Cyron shone the light on the creature but it didn’t affect it. So Cyron grabbed the fuel tank and climbed back up the rope and ran back to the plane.

Cyron refilled the 737-700 with fuel and started it up, he flew back to the Boeing Commercial Airplanes take-off station with no problems or difficulties and safely landed. Cyron got paid the plane price and could pay all his bills, the Boeing 737-700 got used for migration and the Boeing Commercial Airplanes got very popular and was then known all around the world.

Maths: Battleships

L.I: to investigate coordinates
This week for maths our must do was to play both Battle-Sheets and Battleships 2.0. Battle-Sheets was a google sheets which was coded to make a mini Battleships, and Battleships 2.0 was the same thing but once you guess where your friends ships are you have to tell them where your ships are and then see if you got it right.

Reading: Connecting Aviators

LI: to make connections with prior knowledge.
LI: to gather information across texts to form an opinion.
This week for reading we had to find an aviator/aviatrix that we have never heard of and we had to connect them to Jean Batten, Amelia Earhart, Richard Pearse and The Wright Brothers.

Transum: Pairs Twenty One

Today when I did Transum I played Pairs Twenty One and what you do in Pairs Twenty One is match up two numbers that make 21 but it works like Memory Match where the numbers are turned over and you have to memorise where the numbers are.

Transum: Tables Conga

Today when I did Tables Conga I did my nine times tables and got it done in about a minute. Next time I will try a different table and I will try to gt it done faster.

Inquiry: 737-700 Model Plan

This week for inquiry we could either, Draw, Sculpt or make a Model of the flying object we chose and I chose to make a Model of the 737-700 and we had to make a plan.

Writing: Narrative Plane

This week for writing we had to plan either a Information Report, an Explanation or a Narrative which I chose. We had to get the characters, the setting, the beginning, the middle, the end and there had to be a link to migration..

Reading: Summarising

This week for reading we had to choose any flying object and we could either make a summary or do inferring. I chose to do summarising and I did it on the 737-700.

737-700

Read the text and record key words/phrases that answer these questions:

Who? The inventors of the 737-700 were the Boeing Commercial Airplanes

What? The 737-700 is a plane.    There is a second generation of the 737-700.     Costs $80.6 million.

Where?

When? The 737-700 was flown in April, 9, 1967

Why? Narrow-body jet airliner and business jet.

How?

Summarise the text in 25 words:

Maths: Geometry

L.I: to investigate 2D and 3D shapes
L.I: to understand flip, slide, turn
This week for maths we learnt about Geometry and what faces, edges and vertices are. The faces are the sides, the edges are the lines and the vertices are the corners.

Blog Commenting

Today I commented on Sanujan's blogpost about his 9 times tables.

Transum: Car Park Puzzle

Today when I did Car Park Puzzle on Transum I completed level 5 in about 3 minutes and that is the best time limit I have got on level 5. Next time I do Car Park Puzzle level 5 I will try to do it in 2 minutes.

Transum: Tetrominoes

Today when I did Tetrominoes I completed level 1 in only about 2-3 minutes to complete. Next time when I try level two I will try to beat it in 1 minute.

Reading:Who Flew First Timeline

LI: to scan for key information.
LI: to skim texts for general ideas.
For reading we had to prove who flew the first plane, Richard Pearse or The Wright Brothers? From research I found that Richard Pearse flew first. We then had to put the information on a timeline with two columns. I got the information from the following sites: nzhistory.govt.nz https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Pearse

Writing: Conclusion

LI: to write a concluding paragraph.
This week for writing we continued last weeks work about introductions and now we are doing the conclusion, and like last week we kept on doing it about our aviator. We kept our Coggle brainstorm, and wrote off that to get our information.

Jean Batten Conclusion

Jean Batten is a great achieving woman who broke the speed record from flying from England to Australia in an outstanding 14 days and 22 hours. She did many more flights like England to New Zealand and England To Brazil. She then became one of New Zealand’s hero’s and made people proud of her achievements.

Maths: Travel Measurements

L.I: to understand units of measurement
L.I: to investigate units of measurement
This week for maths we learnt about the units of measurement and the way we did that was by getting the km, M, cm and mm of one place to another. What we did was make a google map and link our two places together, and then we wrote down the km and to get the rest we added up the zeros and the way we knew how many zeros we needed to add we e.g if we were getting the zeros needed for the cm, we would get how many cm there is in a meter and there is 100 cm in a meter and there is 2 zeros so that's would be how many more zeros you would add onto your number. To get the thumbs we used our thumb rulers and got how many cm was the size of our thumbs and divide it by the number of size of your thumb.

Inquiry - Rockets

This week for inquiry since we are doing rockets as our subject we made two of our own rocket (Match Stick and Pfft Rockets) To make the Match Stick Rocket we watched a YouTube video on what you need and how you make it. For the Pfft rocket we read a text explaining how to make it and to make both rockets it only takes about 20 - 30 minutes. Links to instructions - Match Stick Rocket    Pfft Rocket

Blog Commenting

Today I posted a comment on Alex's blog post about Jean Batten. I talked about that I did my work on Jean Batten too and added a question.

CyberSmart

This week for CyberSmart we played CyberSmart the game. What you do is you roll a dice and how ever many numbers you get that is how many times you move, and when you land on something when you click on it there will be a task for you to do. I landed on a square where you take a photo of you and your partners and edit it with an editing site and show the before and after photo.
