Inquiry: Ancient And Modern Olympics

 This is a DLO about the Ancient and Modern Olympics, by Me, Sanujan, Abdurrahim and Joshua. We had to do challenges such as, Prior Knowledge, Attributing Images, Note Taking, A Venn Diagram, and the Alphabet Olympics. The thing I found hard was the Alphabet Olympics.

Brochure Maths

L.I: Applying our knowledge and strategy tool kit to real world problems. Today for maths we had to buddy up with someone in our group and we got given 5000 fake dollars to pretend to buy 10 items and use our addition and subtraction to figure our how much it costs and how much money we had left. We had to look at brochures to find out what we wanted to buy.

Today for writing we learnt about the roles of verbs in a procedural text. We read the text How To Play Marbles and How To Make A Ham And Cheese Sandwich.

Word Webs: The Robbers Mask

LI: to find the most important (main) idea in a text. Today for reading we read The Robbers Mask. It is a text about a girl and her dog brings things home and one day, her dog came home with a mask. And when the girl turned on the TV. It showed on the news a bank robbery, and she had the mask of the robber on the TV.

Maths: Prototec

Today when I played Prototec I got 60 out of 60 questions right. Prototec is a maths game where you are timed and you have to answer the question the game gives you. I did stage 5 and next time I will try to do stage 6.

Addition And Subtraction Of Large Numbers


 L.I:to add and subtract using our strategy tool kit.
This weeks maths must do was to do addition of large numbers and subtraction of large numbers on Studyladder. On addition of large numbers I got 7 out of 10 questions right and on subtraction of large numbers I got 10 out of 10 questions right. The thing I found hard was the addition of large numbers because I didn't understand it properly to borrow but when I got the hang of it I got them all right for subtraction.

Writing: Procedural

L.I:to identify the structure and language features of a procedural text
Today for writing we learnt about procedural writing. Mr Wong told us to put a piece of paper down landscape and to draw a line down the page to have two standing rectangles. He told us to draw some shapes and he wanted to see if we could draw both a robot and a rocket.
