Inclined Plane Activity: Making a ramp

Pulley Activity: Making a flag pole

I found our inclined plane activity an in between because it wasn’t satisfying.  I learnt that a vehicle went down a ramp faster than when the ramp was more flat.

I give the lever activity,  an in between because it took me quite a while to understand properly how a catapult works . I learn’t that the further down I pushed the spoon the greater force I used and the distance the load travelled. Also the load is what you want to move or lift,the force is how much energy I used to lift the load up.The fulcrum was the part that held the spoon to the popsicle stick.

I give the pulley a 10 out of 10 because I had lots of fun making a flag pole for the pulley activity. I learn’t that you use a pulley to lift up a load.

This is the flag pole Zane, Abdurrahim and I made out of string, a bamboo stick, cardboard and 2 bottle lids.I then got to test out our flag pole to see if I could rise the New Zealand flag. Horray! I could. I feel happy that I mad a simple pulley for my topic on simple machines.

Rubber Band Car

This is my Rubber Band Car I made with my mum.It is powered by the rubber bands in the middle and the propeller at the back of  the car caught the wind and made the car move forward.To activate it you need to twist the kebab stick a lot and let go and watch it move.

Healthy food heart

This is my Healthy food heart with healthy food to unhealthy.We had to make a heart with the words Eat Most/Eat Some and Eat Least.We had to use,Fruit and Veggies/Breads and Grains/Meat and Alternatives.Milk and Milk Products and Fat's salt and Sugar.I was the first student to finish this work and I hope you like it.

The problem I have to solve is:

NZ won the game against Australia by 152 runs.

How many would they have to make to get to 183?

152 is what we have.

We need to change the 2 ones in 152 to a 3ones like in 183.

How many more ones do we need to add on 2 to make 3?

If I add 1 ones on 2 it will make 3ones.

Now we need to change the 5tens in 152 to 8tens like in 183.

How many more tens do we need to make the 50 into a 80?

If I add 30 to 50 it will add up to 80.

So 1 + 30  is 31.

To make 152 into 183 you will need to add 31 on 152 and that will make 183.

My camping holiday

In the christmas holidays me my dad & my brother went camping.I was really excited so when I knew we were there I raced right out of the car and said YES! with excitement.So we got all the gear and headed for a spot to camp.While dad was setting up the tent my brother Latham and I went into the river and played on the rocks.Then dad finished the tent so we got into our togs & went for a swim.After the swim we went on the opposite side of the river and went for a walk in the water.When it got deep we stopped because it was so cold that we would freeze but we had to do it so I counted down 3 2 1 and I jumped in & swam to land.Then it got shallower and I could stand up.We ended our walk in water at the beach which is a very long way.We went back there at night to chatc some flounders but we couldn’t find any.But then Latham saw an eel so we got out the net & caught it.Eels are really smart because if you put them on land it will find its way into water.Then we headed back to camp & went to sleep.In the morning we were planing to go to a waterfall but first we went for a swim in the river.Then we headed to the waterfall which is a very long walk.When we got there the water was cold & clear.when it got dark we got out the gas cooker & to toast marshmallows &went to bed.I enjoyed camping & I hope I can come back soon.
