Today I completed the final activity for day 5 of week 1 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity, we needed to give a description where we painted a picture with words about the wonders of New Zealand. We are set in the situation that New Zealand is going to sink in the next week, so we better hurry along.
New Zealand, a place that over 4.7 million people can call home. New Zealand is believed to sink to the bottom of the ocean next week, so while we can, let us embark on a journey through the magical wonders of New Zealand. New Zealand is filled with kind citizens all throughout the country, and it is always delight to say hello to someone. New Zealand is inhabited with different opportunities for tourists to learn about New Zealand history and culture. You can look in almost any direction, and you will be directed to a nearby beach or pool if you want to take a quick dip in the water. Visit such amazing places like Kerikeri, and purchase the monstrous Highway 10 ice cream for the biggest challenge you could ever think of. Or visit Auckland (The City Of Sails) to make your way up the Sky Tower, the tallest tower in New Zealand. Or even take a tour up to the top of the North Island, where you can see a small Pohutakawa tree growing out of the rocks, where it is believed by Maori people that when you pass away, your spirit rises to the tree, and you go beneath it with all of your ancestors. Once you've seen the tree, you can take a look around, and see where the Tasman sea and Pacific ocean meet. It was truly amazing when I went up there earlier this holidays.
Hi Jack,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you adding some blog posts! I see you had a great trip up north. I went up there too, and actually went and saw Tane Mahuta. The way you write flows really well so I'm really impressed! Have you been south as well? I h aven't spend too much time in the South Island but I hear that's really beautiful too.
Keep it up Jack!

ReplyDeleteHi Jack,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on completing this activity! I liked how in your description you described New Zealand as a place with magical wonders and its citizens as kind people. I also liked how you described the tourist attractions and interesting things to see in New Zealand. If New Zealand was sinking, would you risk your own safety to see the attractions one more time?
Hi Alex,
DeleteThank you for your great comment, and interest for my opinion. To answer your question, it would depend on how quick the water is rising, and how much time I would have until New Zealand has been completely submerged. Although I really appreciate your comment, and hope that you will continue to comment on my posts.

Hello Jack,
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing job. I really like your story about New Zealand. Thank you for telling us a lot of facts. I also like how you explained to us in blurb why you wrote this story. I also like how you have written a long paragraph.
When writing this story was it hard or easy?
